Bec Blanche Cosplay upper teeth and nose WIP

Description

These are the upper teeth and nose for my Bec Blanche cosplay. I made sure to take pictures of these because it seemed that so many people either bought taxidermy teeth or made super simple generic points for their teeth. This is to show you that you don't have to pay lots of money to have decent teeth!

I made these out of super sculpey, starting with the teeth themselves. I looked up a couple of pictures of dog teeth and sculpted the shapes. It is important to know that the teeth look different than each other! They have four flat incisors in the middle, then, where our canine teeth would be, they actually have another incisor, though it is pointier than their other teeth. After this, they often have a slight gap to accommodate the lower canines, then finally there are the big upper canines. Then they have three premolars and molars are behind that. Here are some good reference pictures. [link] [link] [link] I baked the teeth by themselves so they would keep their shape when I put them into the gums.

After I made the teeth, I rolled a strip of sculpey for the gums and then pushed the teeth in. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, but it worked okay. You'll probably have to squeeze the clay around a little to wrap around the teeth correctly. Make sure to check your reference and makes sure the teeth wrap around right. It should be noted that I made the canines a bit too big and so I had to push them completely through the gums. Of course, if you are trying to make it look extra fearsome you can make the canines bigger like for a werewolf costume.

Next, I painted the gums using cheap acrylic paint. If it looks blotchy, do more coats of paint. After that I painted on some sculpy glaze to make it look wet.

For the nose, I just sculpted it, using plenty of reference once again, painted it, and added a tiny bit of glaze in the nostrils.

I'm going to make the bottom teeth later.

I hope this helps someone! I'd love to see pictures if it does help.
